As the questions keep coming in we will keep this article updated, so check back often.

GHOST HUNTING FAQ

WHAT IS A GHOST?

Funny that you should ask that question, because every Ghost Hunter out there is still trying to figure that out. Not to mention if they even truly exist. Plenty of people claim to have had experiences with ghosts, but they usually do not have any credible evidence to strength their claim. The closest way to having this question answered is to get involved with your local ghost hunting group and start doing your own research. Ultimately, everyone that has had an experience cannot prove anything otherwise to a skeptic. The skeptic has to find out for themselves.

WHAT CAN I DO IF I THINK MY HOUSE IS HAUNTED?

One of the first things that we recommend is to stay calm, especially if other people such as children are present. Another thing we recommend is trying conducting your own "electronic voice phenomenon" or E.V.P. session. This phenomenon results in the audio pick up of unknown voices during tape recording session. Simply get yourself a tape recorder, a fresh cassette tape, and an external microphone. Then just simply start asking questions out loud. It seems a bit silly at first but when you get your first E.V.P. you just might consider becoming a Ghost Hunter yourself. Good luck!

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED TO CONDUCT MY OWN GHOST HUNT?

The first thing you need to understand about any equipment is, "what does it do?" and "how well does it do it?" Do some in-depth research about the equipment you think you will need and then understand how well it can do the job. Our recommendation is to start off with a simple tape recorder and external microphone to begin E.V.P. sessions. Other equipment will depend on the environment you will be ghost hunting in, such as a flashlight with spare batteries, notepad and a pen. It all depends on what you are trying to accomplish during your ghost hunt. Check around the internet for forums that are related to ghost hunting equipment. People on such forums are pretty good about giving out excellent advice.

CAN YOU RECOMMEND SOME LOCATIONS THAT MY FRIENDS AND I CAN GO TO SO WE CAN DO OUR OWN GHOST HUNT?

A. Our recommendation is to first start in your own home. Contrary to popular belief, you do not have to travel far in order to get ghost hunting experience. By ghost hunting in your own home you can refine your technique and understand some of the difficulties involved with ghost hunting. You can also ghost hunt during the day, especially at your local cemetery. We have performed many of our own ghost hunts during the day, especially in a cemetery that did not allow Ghost Hunters in their cemetery after their business hours.

Some of our other recommendations include the homes of other family members or friends. You might be surprised to find a park in your area that was once a cemetery, just like a park close to us named Cheeseman park. If you live in an area that is rich with ghost towns you could plan a day trip to the area to conduct your own investigation. Remember, when in doubt if you are trespassing always ask permission first!

CAN I JOIN YOU ON ONE OF YOUR INVESTIGATIONS?

99.9 percent of the time the only people that are coming along on our investigations have been invited. Otherwise we do not allow people to come along on our investigations. If we extend invitations to the public you can check our help wanted page to see the status.

CAN I JOIN YOUR GROUP?

99.9 percent of the time the only people that we allow to join the group are people who have been through or are currently going to college. Even then we ask a series of interview questions to understand the role of the people we might accept. Afterwards we also have to be around the person enough to see if they will meet a specific standard during an investigation.

I HAVE A LEAD TO A PLACE THAT IS HAUNTED, WOULD YOU BE WILLING TO DO AN INVESTIGATION?

This one is a no brain-er. Contact us through email, although we will probably need a bit more history of the location and ask you more in-depth questions. The more information you have about the location the easier our job will be; also if you can gain permission from the owner to conduct an investigation ahead of time, even better. We prefer to be around the Denver metro area so that we can revisit the location to continue research if given permission to do so.

WHY DOES YOUR TEAM ASK SO MANY QUESTIONS BEFORE EVEN MEETING US TO DISCUSS AN INVESTIGATION?

We are contacted by a lot of people throughout the month wanting us to come investigation their home or business. Our reasoning for asking so many questions is to get a feel for the situation they are experiencing. Some people are experiencing genuine paranormal activity, although some people are not. Certain people exist in the world to play pranks and make others look foolish. By screening people who contact us we are limiting the amount of time that could be wasted on our part and the other people who truly are seeking help.

YOUR GROUP ISN'T PART OF THE T.A.P.S. FAMILY?

No. At the moment, we do not feel the need to be apart of the T.A.P.S. Family. There are some descent investigative groups within the T.A.P.S. Family and then there are the other groups. As the saying goes, "you're only as strong as your weakest link" and we prefer to keep our weakest links down to a minimum. Maybe when the time is right in the future we will apply with the T.A.P.S Family. Until then we have a lot of work to accomplish on our own before we start to branch out for help.
