COLORADO GHOST HUNTERS

THOMAS "TAD" DAGHITA

Tad Daghita

Tad's interest in ghosts was sparked by the curiousity of the afterlife and how it merged itself into religious belief. Years later, while searching for religious answers, he decided to investigate ghosts on his own.

The first major task he started, although never got to finish was investigating the Chief Theater that was located in Greeley Colorado. At this point, he knew the task was going to be monumental and started looking for other people to join with in order to get these questions answered.

During the search he saw that many groups located in Colorado and abroad were not up to what he thought the standard should be. He wanted data to correlate to any experience he would have so he could find patterns and hopefully reproduce these results. Then in 2007, he decided to not only start a group of his own, but started it as a business. From that moment on, he wanted to bring what he had to offer to the public.

His approach to the unexplained is using logic first. For the past few years, Tad has been studying philosophy and logic. He believes that critical thinking skills are extremely important in the field and analyzing any data that has been gathered from experiments. Also, understanding various outlooks in philosophy helps him develop other theories about the possibility of a ghostly existence.

Including logical thinking, he also applies the Scientific Method. He believes that most people in the ghost hunting field that do not share their data for peer review are showing a lot about themselves. This would include using scientific methods to try and correlate data to unusual experiences.

Tad studied for certification in Information Technologies after being honorably discharged from the U.S. Army where he was trained to work on the M1 Abrams Tank. Currently, Tad is working on a B.A. in Philosophy and a minor in Psychology. He also is continuing research into other subjects that involve the paranormal. These include electrical work, physics, and photography. In order to understand the paranormal, he believes that you need all the information possible in order to understand a given situation. Although as time continues and new theories develop he will continue to educate himself as needed.

MISTY WHITE

Ghost Hunter - Misty White

Misty has been officially investigating claims of hauntings in the Denver area since 2000; however, she has been involved with the topic of the paranormal nearly all of her life, with some her earliest memories family members sitting around telling ghost stories, all of which were presented as being real. At a young age, learning about Edgar Cayce, psychic phenomena and ghosts from her mother were as common to Misty as watching Sesame Street. Such a rearing made the beliefs regarding the paranormal common place in her world view. Later, various experiences in her personal life and those close to her further pushed her interest in the paranormal as early as age 14.

Science, in one form or the other, has always been Misty's passion, having interests in astronomy, physics and space exploration from a very young age. Having the inclination to be scientifically minded, Misty began asking questions about nearly everything, including the 'ghost stories' she had been told and the Catholic religion she was raised in. In her late 20s, her interest in people's many varied beliefs led her to the decision to study psychology.

She has found that these two main interests, psychology and the paranormal are a good compliment to one another, enabling her to look at situations in a scientific manner and with some insight to how the human mind works in regards to experiencing the paranormal and beliefs regarding it. Although her tendency to think scientifically has led her to be defined as a skeptic, Misty believes that there is some truth in some hauntings and paranormal experiences, but that you have to sort out the truth from everything else. She therefore prefers to be labeled a "believing skeptic".

Her interests led her to working with many different paranormal investigating groups around the Denver area, many of which used methods that she was highly unsatisfied with, seeing little implementation of basic scientific methods and Occam's Razor. She found that many individuals would only allow themselves to see only what they wanted to see and that she was met with anger for any attempt to find natural explanations for what they were labeling as "paranormal". Additionally, a few mishaps due to negligence on the part of group 'leaders' and also having no interest in 'getting rich quick' off of the vulnerability of many individuals who find themselves in a situation regarding the paranormal, Misty pulled away from groups in general and worked independently or with a few close friends for a number of years. CGH is the first time since 2002 that she has investigated the paranormal in a group or publicly.

Currently, Misty has a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in religious studies, and she is currently pursuing her Ph.D in Social Psychology of Religon. She has and is currently conducting research on beliefs in conspiracy theories, New Age, symbolism and the intolerance created by religion. Specifically in regards to the paranormal, she is doing literary research on topics such as sleep paralysis/night terrors, OBEs and after life research.
